Festival Republic of the United Kingdom runs a pair of festivals known as the Reading and Leeds Festivals. These are musical festivals and are held on the August bank holidays. Reading Festival is one of the largest musical festivals of the world and it has some typical stages.

The main stage of the festival includes the acts of rock, indie and others. NME/Radio 1 stage also includes these acts but it builds up headline and less well-known acts. The third stage is the festival Republic stage which was also known as Carling stage from 1998 to 2007 and the acts on this stage are less popularly-known and more likely to be breakthrough acts. Fourth stage is the Radio 1 Lock up Stage which deals with the hardcore acts. One of the most popular stages is the Dance tent which is complete full of dance music acts. An Alternative tent is organised for the comedy and DJs. The last stage of the festival is the BBC Introduction Stage which was also known as Topman and it includes the less-known acts. All these stages will be a part of the Reading Festival 2009 and the tickets for Reading festival are available online from the authorised websites.
